Holocaust Educational Resources
Four years after its publication, the Educator’s Guide to Living Among the Dead continues to help teachers bring Holocaust history, memory, and ethics into their classrooms with care and intention. Created by Hilary Levine as part of her master’s thesis, the guide was designed to work in unison with Adena Bernstein’s memoir, Living Among the Dead—offering structured, thoughtful tools that help students engage deeply with the narrative while honoring the lived experiences behind it. Developed in close collaboration with Bernstein—and informed by research travel to Ukraine to better understand the landscapes of her family’s story—this resource supports difficult conversations, builds empathy, and provides educators worldwide with meaningful ways to keep these stories alive and relevant today.
